Measure your jeans size in 3 easy steps
No measuring tape handy? No problem! Grab a pair of well-fitting jeans and follow these steps:
Step 1: Measure your waist size
Lay your jeans flat on a table with the button closed. Measure only the back waistband to get the half-waist size. Check our chart below for the corresponding inch size.
Step 2: Measure your inseam length
Measure from the top of the inner leg (at the crotch) down to the end of the leg. This gives you your length size in inches.

How did jeans sizes originate?
Jeans sizes were introduced by American denim manufacturers who sold work trousers by the inch. They noted two numbers: the waist width (W) and the leg length (L), both measured in inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). That system was adopted worldwide, but in Europe two variants were added:
- EU clothing sizes (men 40-60, women 32-48) are simply the American inch size × 2: a W32 ≈ EU 48.
- Some brands—including us—communicate in centimetres; we list the full waist circumference (e.g. 84 cm) or the half width measured flat (e.g. 42 cm).
